FireWire Webcam Driver for Mac OS 8-9

This driver is intended primarily for webcams that were sold without Macintosh support in OS 8 and 9. If you've already bought our FireWire driver for OS X, you can use the same serial number to register this one too (which means it's free).

Similarly, if you start out by buying this one, you'll be able to upgrade to the OS X version with the same serial number.

If you own a webcam that came with Mac support on OS 8-9 from ADS, AME, Aplux, Orange Micro, or FirewireDirect, we wrote those OEM drivers, and you can consider this driver a free update. You will need to disable your existing driver if you want to use this one.

Happily, our installer is very smart and knows not to ask for money from anyone who should get it for free. Everybody else can buy for just $19.95.

Installing the Trial Version

1) Download the installer from one of the links below.

2) Connect your camera. The camera must be connected when you install to create the association between driver and camera. If you want to support multiple cameras, you will need to install the driver separately for each one.

3) Run the installer.

4) If your device already has a driver, remove the existing one. Then unplug the device and plug it back in or reboot. Note: Due to some issues with Installer VISE, you may want to reboot after installation, although this is not strictly required.

About Purchasing the Driver

When you first install the driver, your camera will operate for 30 minutes at a time. You can reset the timer by unplugging and reconnecting the camera or by rebooting.

The first time you use the camera, and again whenever the demo period expires, you will see a dialog that allows you to enter a serial number or purchase the driver. Clicking on the "Buy" button will connect you with eSellerate (www.esellerate.net) to purchase a serial number.

Each serial number is uniquely associated with one camera. You can use the camera on as many machines as you like, but you need a separate serial number for each camera you want to use.
