IOXperts ANNOUNCES THE RELEASE OF VERSION 1.0 OF THEIR FIREWIRE WEBCAM DRIVER FOR MAC OS X

CAMBRIDGE, MA, December 26, 2001 - IOXperts, Inc. announced today that it has released v. 1.0 of the first and only FireWire webcam driver for Mac OS X.

After about six weeks of crisis-free public beta testing, the developers are confident that the driver is extremely stable. "We were happy, obviously, to see so few bug reports," said Dave Koziol, IOXperts' VP of Engineering. "The reception so far has been very positive, and we're especially pleased with some of our latest performance enhancements."

The company has a few new products in the pipeline, including an "industrial strength" DCam driver that will support the advanced features of high-end digital cameras used in factories and research labs in OS X. They also plan to develop drivers for USB webcams.

PRICING AND AVAILABILITY

The trial version of the FireWire webcam driver can be downloaded free from <http://www.ioxperts.com/dcam1_0.html>. Users who want to register the driver and get full functionality will pay USD $19.95.

The FirewireDirect DV WebCam is now being sold with the IOXperts driver, and as a follow-on to the licensing agreement between IOXperts and FirewireDirect, all existing FirewireDirect DV WebCam owners will get a $5 discount off the release price of the IOXperts FireWire Webcam driver.

    As of 2004 this discount is no longer available.
