IOXperts ANNOUNCES LICENSING AGREEMENT WITH FirewireDirect TO PROVIDE NATIVE MAC OS X SUPPORT FOR THE FirewireDirect DV WEBCAM

CAMBRIDGE, MA, December 14, 2001 - IOXperts, Inc. announced today that it has entered into a licensing agreement with FirewireDirect to bundle the IOXperts DCam Webcam driver for Mac OS X with FirewireDirect's popular DV WebCam. This makes FirewireDirect the first and only digital webcam manufacturer to offer its customers native Mac OS X support.

IOXperts founder and CTO Steve Sisak notes that this new agreement is a welcome extension of the relationship between the two companies, since he and his team also wrote the OS 9 drivers for FirewireDirect's webcams.

Up to this point, IOXperts has been the only vendor offering a FireWire webcam driver for Mac OS X and will soon release version 1.0 after a gratifyingly uneventful public beta period. Dave Koziol, IOXperts' VP of Engineering, isn't sorry to give up that lone wolf status. "Our goal is to make sure Mac users get the tools they need," he said, "and the evolution of this arrangement with FirewireDirect will create more opportunities for both developers and users of this kind of technology."
